Fundraisers are community heroes
There are not too many people around the region who have been as heavily involved in fundraising as Cheryl Latimer.
Cheryl is the driving force behind Stephen's Supa IGA Toolooa Street Community Chest. Cheryl has been involved in this worthwhile project for almost fifteen years and at last count the small, hardworking group had raised more than a $100,000 (and this doesn't include the community chest donations from the store itself).
Each year the group considers applications and chooses a worthy recipient in the community to benefit from their fundraising efforts. The benefiting charity this year is Camp Quality, a very worthy cause which sponsors camps for children in the Gladstone area with cancer. Cheryl hopes that the group will receive around $27,000.
The next Stephen's Supa IGA Toolooa St Community Chest Christmas Cent Sale will be held November 29th at Gladstone Bowls Club. There will be over 200 prizes, including special draws, cake walk and kids prizes. Doors open 11am for 1pm start.
