Seafood, fun and stalls

Seafood lovers are counting the days until the 12th annual Gladstone Area Water Board Seafood Festival at the marina on Sunday, September 12.
Gladstone Festivals and Events general manager Michelle Stafford said the day would be full of fresh seafood, fun and market stalls with something on offer for all the family.
Celebrity chef Sally Jenyns from Channel 7’s Creek to Coast will serve up some fresh ideas, turning the region’s ocean fare into sumptuous dishes.
Cavaliers Menswear and Fantasy Rags will join forces to show off the latest fashions.
Michelle said this year’s prawn peeling competition was wide open with the reigning champion, celebrity chef Fast Ed, not returning to the Port City to contest the title.
“Fast Ed won both the one-armed raw prawn peeling and the cooked prawn peeling competitions,” she said. “It’ll be open slather for this year’s competitors.”
Prawn peelers are usually selected from the ranks of the festival’s sponsors. This year they include Gladstone Area Water Board, Zinc, Gladstone News and Rio Tinto Alcan.
A fully licensed bar will operate on the day with no BYO alcohol permitted at the marina event.
Grab your family and get along to this year’s seafood fest from 10am until 4pm on Sunday, September 12 for the freshest fare and some down to earth Gladstone fun.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
